late at night, something awoke me from my sleep –
crash and bang, my heart ups its pace;
such a fright, an intruder not afraid to peep.
stay in bed, the enemy i shall not face
in the dark. i keep my place!
in the light of day, i arise hoping all is clear –
i venture gently out for sight;
but not no creature nor beast is near.
downstairs i seek, to a fright
of a barn owl of white!
